Vaibhav Suryavanshi Shatters Records in IPL

On Monday, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the latest batting prodigy from Rajasthan Royals, made headlines by becoming the youngest player to achieve a century in IPL history at just 14 years and 32 days old.

He reached his remarkable century in a mere 35 balls, smashing an impressive 11 sixes and seven fours, marking the second-fastest century ever recorded in the IPL. Suryavanshi concluded his innings with a score of 101 runs off 37 deliveries, making him the youngest player to score a century in men's T20 cricket.

The record for the fastest century in IPL still belongs to Chris Gayle, who scored a century in just 30 balls while playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Pune Warriors in April 2013.

With this performance, Suryavanshi set a new benchmark for the fastest century by an Indian in IPL, surpassing Yusuf Pathan's previous record of 37 balls for Rajasthan Royals against Mumbai Indians in 2010.

His extraordinary innings came against the Gujarat Titans, the champions of IPL 2022, who had set a challenging target of 210 runs for the Rajasthan Royals.

Earlier in the season, Punjab Kings' Priyansh Arya had scored a century in 39 balls against Chennai Super Kings, while Sunrisers Hyderabad's Abhishek Sharma achieved a ton in 40 balls against Punjab Kings.
